It has always been a goal of mine to play soccer at the highest level possible. Ever since I first started playing soccer, I’ve wanted to be the best. I thrive off of competitive environment because I can push myself to be better every single day. I love this sport more than anything else, and I am always looking to challenge myself. I love talking about the game with coaches and players alike. Soccer brings joy into my life because of the community that I can share the game with. More importantly, though, I love winning in soccer. There’s no better feeling than walking off the field knowing you gave your all and your team got the result you wanted. Losing only gives me more motivation to come back and be better the next game. Wherever I am playing and whatever team I am on, I will give 100% every day.
Currently, I play for Tennessee Soccer Club in the ECNL. I was selected to the 2018-19 Boys ECNL All-Conference team and I have also played for the ODP all state first team in Tennessee. These competitive environments have helped sharpen my knowledge of the game and how to play in different systems. I have also been a starting varsity player for my high school every year. The experience I have gained from these teams have been valuable opportunities to learn and grow as a player and as a student.
One of my key attributes as a player is my leadership. I’ve been the captain of my club team for three years and I’ve also been the captain of my high school team since my sophomore year. These leadership roles have taught me how to handle myself on and off the field. I try my hardest every day to help bring success to the teams I am a part of. Another strength that I have is my work rate. As a man who is on the smaller side, dedicating relentless hours on the field and in the gym has been crucial to my success as a player. I focus on being the hardest working man in the room, and I use every opportunity I have to become a better player.
Since second grade, I have played two sports every year; soccer and wrestling. Having to train for two sports at one time throughout the year has pushed me beyond my limits. Having to manage school, soccer, wrestling, and personal matters has taught me excellent time management and how to keep moving forward even when life gets hard. Putting my body through the extremities of wrestling has taught me how to fight until the very end, and I believe that it has given me a fighting spirit in soccer that no one else has.
I am excited to take the next step for myself as a man, player, and student and I am excited about being a part of a program where I can strive for excellence as a part of the team.
