Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and I have loved the game ever since I touched a soccer ball. I am going to be a Junior at Vandegrift High School and playing soccer in college and professionally is something I have always wanted to do. I know it is a difficult task, but I will work extremely hard to try and achieve this goal. Being able to achieve this goal will take a lot of determination and effort, but I am more than willing to put in the effort and have the proper mindset in order to achieve this goal.
I play striker as my main position, but if needed I am flexible with positioning. My ball skills are good, and I am fast. I am a leader on and off the pitch. A positive attitude is key to strengthen the bond of a team whether that is in soccer or anywhere. I am a very positive person and am always trying to lift up my teammates when they are struggling and I set the example for behavior off the pitch. I am extremely coachable and an extremely good listener.
I work extremely hard to meet and exceed expectations in everything I do. I have a 3.6 GPA and am involved in activities in my area. I am in Boy Scouts, and I was in the band at my High School for my Freshman and Sophomore years. I decided to stop being in the band so that I can focus much more on soccer and improve as much as possible in my last 2 years of high school. I hold leadership in my Boy Scout troop and I provided leadership in the band. I also provide leadership on my soccer team although I am the youngest player on the team.
My goal is to major in Biology and play soccer at a high level. Depending on where that takes me I want to either continue the soccer path, or go into Medical School and study to become a Urologist. I want to be in a college with a good and active community, and want to be part of a culture that is inclusive and promotes equality among all students. I want to be in a place where I am motivated to be successful in all aspects and be an example to the people around me.
