Personal Statement
My name is Patrick Cotey. I was born in Austin, Texas in October 2004 and will graduate from Westwood High School in 2023. I am currently 5'7,130 lbs and left-footed.
My passion for soccer started when I was very young and I joined my first club team (Lonestar) when I was around 6 and have not stopped since. Throughout my years of soccer, I have played various positions; winger, outside back, and now my strongest position is holding or attacking midfielder.
I have experience in US systems and overseas. I have played in both Lonestar DA and ECNL teams and currently play for Cap City in a high-level Frontier League. In the summer of 2018 and 2019, I traveled with Inspire Soccer to Spain to play in the Villareal Yellow Cup and Cerdanyola Cup where we played against the top youth academies in Europe. (We got smacked by Atletico Madrid)
I have played at Westwood High School (25-6A) for the past 2 years on the varsity team. During my freshman year, I won District Honorable mention and Academic all-district. During my sophomore year, I started every game and won 1st team all-district, Westwood midfield MVP, and Academic all-district. My strengths are my quickness, game vision, and ability to create space. I am a team player and I value dribbling and passing skills.
