My goal is to achieve success both athletically and academically. I want to be able to perform at a competitive level while also receiving a valuable education.
What makes me a good candidate for the team is that I don’t see myself as above others. I train and play harder than most, but I won’t feel any sense of entitlement. I don’t let my performance give me any privilege over anyone on my team and I hold myself accountable to this. I've seen and worked with many players that think that their talent or work ethic grants themselves the right to talk down to others, or disobey the coach, but I will never do those things. I follow and respect instructions. I trust the preparation the coach has and I stick to the game plan. I also support and uplift my teammates which is one of the core values I believe a team is founded upon.
What separates me from other recruits is my focus. My focus allows me to stay level-headed and have better judgment in the game. I can stay in control when there is a lot of pressure and react in response to my situation. I also apply this in my academics. I tune out my distractions in order to learn and manage my time effectively so that I may maintain good grades.
