Abdoulali Jirani '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abdoulali Jirani. I am a 5'11 150 lb goalkeeper and am a 2020 student at Brighter Horizons Academy. I have been the starter for our varsity team since my Freshman year. I also play for my club team, FC Dallas 00B Silver.

I am not just any ordinary student athlete. One trait of mine that I feel separates me from all the competition is my work ethic. I am responsible and reliable, and I like to work hard to meet my goals. Because I actually have not been playing for the longest time, I really started getting into soccer from about 8th grade. But ever since I got serious about it, I have never stopped working.  And by the time I got to freshman year, I was able to start on my varsity team. But not only start, I also won best goalkeeper in my district, and won 2nd team all-state honors. All in my freshman year. And obviously I haven't slowed down since. My Sophomore year was even better, as I got best goalkeeper in our district for the second year in a row and 1st team All State.

I work every single day to become the best that there is. That is also another trait that sets me apart. I am very competitive in everything that I do (and this goes for beyond the field as well). I never settle for less, and always want to be first. But at the same time, I know how to take a loss. I am never a sore loser. I look back at my mistakes and see what I can learn, to get better. And lastly, I always put the same amount of work on the field, into the classroom as well. I always strive for the best grades, and I value education very highly. One day I hope to bring these traits and characteristics to a college that wants me. And in the future, for a professional team that wants me.
