Thomas Richard '23 Recruiting Profile

I have committed to Rhodes College! Go Lynx! Thank you to all the coaches that I have spoken with for your interest and time. It has been a journey.

I am a left-footed defender, predominately Center Back.  I was just named Top Performer of my club. As a starter for club, I was moved up a whole age bracket because of my size, agility, and speed. I have been playing ECNL for the last 4 years and am currently on the U19 team. I was named Captain of the Team for the past two years by the coaching staff. For high school, I have been rewarded a starter position on Varsity Soccer team all four years of high school and have led my team defensively to two titles: SPC Southzone Champs 2021 and SPC Champs 2022.  As a sophomore, I was named All-Southzone/SPC for our high school conference and All-Greater Houston (Houston Chronicle May 10, 2021) As a Junior, I was just named All SPC  for the 2022 season.

I hope to play competitive college soccer and am looking for challenging academics to match my academic goals and test scores. I am still undecided what I will be pursuing academically but more than likely it will be Business (Finance or Economics). I am strong in analytics. 

I am known for my calm composure and my work ethic both on and off the field. I have learned to both be more vocal in all my pursuits and to set short and long term goals. 

Aside from academic and soccer pursuits, one of my hobbies is in design, in particular, athletic wear, recently designing our championship hoodies for my high school soccer team. I am also sneaker obsessed and enjoy the challenge of investment and trade of the commodity.
