Alexander Martinelli '13 Recruiting Profile

I am Alexander William Martinelli and I love competition. Ever since a i first started playing tee-ball and basketball in kindergarten for the local church league, i have loved every single component of participating in any sort of atheltic game or competition. I started playing soccer in 1st grade and have been playing as often as possible ever since. As i started to grow up i advanced the level of competition as high as i could in West Texas (admittedly not the biggest soccer loving community in the nation). As a soccer player i strive to be the most dominant physical player on the field and the smartest passer and creator. I like to play center mid and/or defender, but i simply love soccer and will always compete for and love any spot i am told to try for because i just love being involved in the game. I have participated in Club soccer since 7th grade and have played every position on the field except keeper. I represented my team as one of our two captains. I have had limited Highschool playing time because of school transfer and the lack of a jv team. I am competing my junior and senior year and hope to play a major role in a Lubbock High Westerner soccer program that is expanding and making great progress. 
I am 5'8", anywhere from 150-165 pounds depending on the season and sport in session. I love physical activity and make sure to do something active every day. I have always been a strong long distance runner and a quick sprinter. I hope to continue to grow in height, but if i do not i am certain that i can be a dominant player at my current height and weight.
I would like to play on a competitive soccer team in a strong conference one that can win and will always have team members and staff that want to work together as a team to win. Im a very easy going guy and can get along with anyone. I am open to attending just about any type of college that can offer me a fair chance at a starting position on their team. I would really like to attend college out of Texas, and hopefully in a big city. I come from a large family and with out of state tuitions being as high as they are, i hope to be able to recieve some form of scholarship assistance either for my atheltic abilities or my scholarly skills. I pride myself on being just as strong or stronger student than i am athlete, and i firmly believe that being a strong athlete and an intelligent person benefits me greatly on the soccer field. 
I guess the main points about me are.. That i love soccer, i love competition, and i will work as hard as i can to earn a spot on any team that will give me a chance and shows me a promise of good chemistry that can succeed. I really want to attend school outside of Texas because i am dying for a change of scenery and culture. I will bring a team a hard working player that will adapt to any system, do his best to bond the team together, and win.
