Personal Statement
Soccer is not just a sport or activity for me. It's my obsession. All of my daily plans and schedules revolve that passion. I've been on the ball since I was a toddler. Most years, I've played year round. Through 8th grade, I was homeschooled so that I could travel for tournaments more easily as well as work and train. My coaches have always made a point to congratulate me on my leadership skills and my work ethic. I have received a multitude of awards regarding not only my technical skillset but also leadership and integrity. Even though I'm a younger 04' player, I've played up in age group, even on U23 UPSL team as a Sophomore and Junior in HS. Having the respect and the influence with my older peers has never been an issue. I've been Captain on both my club teams and high school team, even contributing my opinions on the roster selection to those final spots. My parents made sure I was raised with the communication skillset to express myself confidently and respectfully so I've become "that" player that my coaches expect to talk to the officials on the field when needed. I have also learned to organize my day between work, training, and academics. I've worked for my family's construction business for many years, trained some days up to 3 times, enrolled in a rigorous honor roll school schedule, all while maintaining a 3.8+ GPA. In short, soccer is my life and I want to continue to play at the highest level of competition as long as possible while pursuing my collegiate education in construction/business management.
