Personal Statement

My name is Adrian Wilson and I’m a Senior at CT Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas. I also play for San Antonio City Soccer Club, in the Texas Region of the Elite National Club League (ECNL), where I play right & left-wing, as well as all the midfield positions.

I’ve been playing since I was 6 and grew up playing in the top leagues of Spain, where I was born, including at the FCBarcelona School. From Spain, I moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where I played in the High-Performance League, South Africa’s highest youth club competition. My family decided to send me to the US to spend my last high school year and to play more competitive soccer.

Ive had the opportunity to play highly competitive soccer in Spain, South Africa, and now in the US. Those opportunities have made me different from many of my teammates. Ive had to learn to adapt to very different circumstances, whether its playing high-speed physical soccer in South Africa, or the more possession and build-up, with quick and accurate passing of Spanish-style soccer. Those experiences have exposed me to playing different styles and philosophies of soccer. Coaches tell me that my strongest trait is my ability to utilize my good vision to anticipate the play and to move to the right space depending on each situation, even when I'm off the ball. I have pace when I play on the wing and can play the space in the midfield.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
