Personal Statement
My name is Max McLarty and I am from Southlake, Texas. I currently attend Carroll Senior High School with the anticipated graduating year of 2021. I am searching for a college not only with an exemplary academic program but also a university with a competitive soccer program where I can contribute to the success of the program.
I generally play as a right wing on my club team as well as for my school due to my speed and skill set. However, I have the ability to adapt into almost any position on the field as told by numerous times by coaches. Currently, I am rostered on the Dallas Texans ECNL U18/19 team under the leadership of Coach Clint Craft. I have played with the Dallas Texans since 2011. On my High School team, I have made the Varsity team since my Freshman year and have been a starter since. My strengths as a player are speed, tenacity on and off the ball, and field awareness.
On my club team, I have had the amazing opportunity to travel to Europe and participate in two international tournaments. Our first week in Europe we competed in the Iber Cup in Spain where we placed second in our age group. Our second week in Europe we competed in the Gothia Cup in Sweden- the largest youth tournament in the world. The team made it to the quarterfinals in field of over 200 teams in the age group. In both tournaments, it was an amazing experience to compete against teams from all over the world. In addition, it added to my personal and athletic growth. Our team continued our exposure at the Surf Cup College Showcase, in San Diego, CA where we placed second in age division. Overall these experiences enhanced my desire to continue to play soccer at a higher level and pursue the opportunity as a college student athlete.
