Personal Statement
My Mom put a soccer ball in front of me as a toddler and I've had one at my feet ever since. Growing up, soccer has always been there for me. It has pushed me through the hard times and has been my best memories in good times. It has given my family unity. It has made me strong physically and mentally. It has taught me how to follow the direction of a coach and work hard for a goal.
Soccer is where my heart is. I live for the commitment, leadership responsibility, sacrifice and heart this game takes, both on the field and in the classroom. You can't be dedicated to the field and a slacker in academics. You have to show up for your team as much in your academics as you do on the field. A team that is strong academically will be strong and unified on the field. Soccer pushes me to achieve in the classroom.
I play this game with soul and it shows on the field. I command respect but not just from my own team but my opponent. My presence is felt before the whistle blows and the clock starts. But not just because of my size. I am the voice that leads. Inspires. Motivates. I don't need a captain's band to show that I am the presence that leads. I trust my training. I trust my coaches.
With me on your back line, we will be an unstoppable force in the classroom and especially on the pitch.
