For as long as I can remember, soccer has been in my life and has been a teacher to me. Because my 2 older brothers play soccer as well, schedules revolved around practices and games. If I was not on a soccer field, I was being driven to one. I am shaped by family, coaches, teachers, friends – some who have kept in touch, others who have not. Over the years, the game has been a constant and I continue throughout continually intensifying competition. Although I am not top goal scorer on my team, I am a play maker and assist those goals.
I was not part of organized soccer until I joined a travel team at 9 years old. Prior to that I had been hanging around my brothers’ practices, watching, absorbing, and mimicking what I saw. After my team practice, I would join my older brother’s team training. When I was 12 years old, I was asked by the club director/coach to join the U14 team. This age group included both 2000 and 2001 birth years, so I was playing with teammates and opponents that were 1-2 years older than me. I loved it. This was when I grew the most. With that team and beyond, I have been a 2 time state champion, 2 time region champion, and a National semi-finalist. I have been on the State ODP team. I have gotten the privilege of attending several national training camps. I have also been given the opportunity to train and play games with a 2nd division team in Denmark and compete with Portuguese teams in Portugal.
I have been privileged to be exposed to numerous players and coaches influenced by different world play - Europe, Australia, Africa, and U.S. These experiences have helped me learn different styles of play and improve as a player. My goal is to establish myself as a key player on any team I commit to. I understand the value of teamwork and the commitment needed to advance in any endeavor.
