Joshua Clements '22 Recruiting Profile

There have been many situations and people that have influenced me to become the person I am today. I come from a loving and supportive family that has always taught me to aspire to be a hard working man of honor with empathy for others. At an early age, my family instilled the importance of pursuing my own dreams, independence, making my own decisions, and caring for others.

At the age of three, I began playing soccer, but it wasn’t until I was nine that I knew my dream to play soccer at the highest level would only be achieved if I demonstrated the upmost effort, determination, and pure willpower to succeed.

I currently play defensive midfield, but I’m very comfortable playing other positions such as attacking midfield and center back. For many of my travel years of soccer, I have been a team captain because I am a leader on and off the field. I believe in encouragement and offering positive motivation. I am known for my strong tackles, support for the back line, and ability to read the field which helps me create key plays for the team. I believe that I have gained respect from my teammates and coach with my work ethic and ability to win the ball with headers. My effort is not only demonstrated on the field, but it is also a priority in every aspect of my life, especially academics.

I am highly motivated to attend a college where I can not only challenge myself athletically, but also academically. I currently hold a 3.78 GPA. I am actively involved in my school and community. 

I ultimately want to find a college that is the best fit for me academically, athletically, and socially. I aspire to become a successful student and athlete that will give me the foundation to succeed in life.
