I have been playing soccer since I was four years old, and have always loved the sport. I have always imagined playing soccer in college, because it is such a big part of my life; it just makes the most sense to me to pursue something I love.
The competition for my position is huge with both my travel club (six goalkeepers in my age group) and my high school, but I love working for what I want. When I practice or train with others, the competition motivates me to be better than them. I always strive to perform the best I can, and look for opportunities to grow. During offseason periods, I participate in group and personal training sessions to improve my speed, quickness, strength and agility. I believe I have developed the right mindset as a goalkeeper to learn from my mistakes, and not dwell on them; while allowing successes to increase my confidence in my abilities.
My grades are pretty good and I look forward to finding something I love in the academic field so I can pursue that dream as well. School is just as important as soccer. Soccer will eventually end, yet my education will not.
