(2/8/24 update: 3.80 unweighted GPA for last three semesters - junior year 1st and 2nd sem 3.71 and 3.86, 1st sem senior year 3.83)
My name is Devon McCraley. I am a senior enrolled in the Advanced Learning, accelerated IB program at Interlake High School (I completed the IB curriculum and was awarded the IB Diploma in July 2023).
I have loved playing soccer since I was little and began playing club in 1st grade. I usually play left or right winger but enjoy playing any other position beside center back. I can use both feet equally and I try to be as creative as possible on the ball. I am a team player for both my club team at PacNW and my high school team at Interlake High School. I have been at the Pacific Northwest Soccer Club for the last eight years, playing on the B06 ECNL team (and DA team), and this coming year I’m on the combined-age U19 B05/06 ECRL team. I was captain of my freshman high school soccer team, was one of two non-upperclassmen on varsity during sophomore year, was one of six non-seniors on varsity and a starter during junior year, and am currently a captain of the varsity team and a starter in senior year. I am a technically and tactically strong player and I work well with many different styles of players and play.
I also love playing Futsal and was invited to a Futsal training/tournament event in Barcelona Spain with a curriculum run by Xavi Closas, head coach for the men’s professional development team for FC Barcelona Futsal. I’ve also participated in many regional Futsal tournaments (including winning the 2020 Oregon State Futsal Cup). I continue to explore my options and I plan on performing at a high level at both High School and club to achieve the recognition I desire.
I am interested in pursuing Biology/Marine Biology in college, but am also interested in Physics, Bio-Physics, and Psychology.
I believe that the academic rigor of the accelerated IB program and training and competing for top-level teams will have prepared me to balance the challenging life of a student athlete at the collegiate level.
