Derek Shoring '21 Recruiting Profile

The sport of soccer has been a big part of my life since I started when I was 4 years old.  I was first introduced to the beautiful game by my father, and I spent majority of my years playing up 3 years with my brother's team, until I moved down to play with my age at 11. I have played high level premier, ECNL, and men's league, I do not see myself stopping. 

With all the struggles I’ve gone through soccer has kept me grounded and is the way I can express myself without hesitation. It has been my dream to play at the highest level all my life and playing in college is the next step for me in my goals. I am a naturally left footed player who plays Left back and Left wing.

I am wanting to pursue a spot on a team playing for a program that supports me as a person as well as my goals. Education is key and I would try my best to make a positive impact on those around me whether that be on the field or in the classroom.
