Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Alexander Bradbury, but I prefer to be called, Alex. I am a senior at Central Kitsap High School located in Silverdale, WA. I have been dedicated to the game of soccer since I was six years old. I have been playing for the Sounders Development Academy for the past three and a half years, which is part of the United States Soccer Development Academy. I am currently playing for the Sounders U18 team. My normal position is striker/forward but I have also played as an outside mid fielder who is very dangerous in the attack. I have a wicked (dominate) left foot and a really good right foot as well, and I am good at using them whether I am scoring goals, assisting or starting plays that lead to very good chances. I would be a good asset to any college team that plays any style of soccer. When it comes to the game of soccer, I am a very quick learner and according to my coaches that I've had, "I am a very coachable player." I want to join a college team whose main focus is winning championships and being recognized as one of the best colleges in their conference. If possible, even the best in the country! My dream is to one day become a professional soccer player. I know college coaches hear and read this statement a lot, but I genuinely believe I can. I have the mental drive, tremendous work ethic, dedication, and capability to achieve this dream! I want to attend a college where I help the team to become more competitive, win games, but more importantly, play for a coach who is equally driven to help me develop into a professional soccer athlete.
In addition to my soccer pursuits, I am looking to attend a college that will help me academically and challenge me in my next chapter of life. I am vacillating between two majors right now. I am considering pursuing a degree in Business or Physical Therapy. In the unfortunate or unexpected career ending injury, or for some reason I am not selected for a professional career in soccer, I want a fall back plan and degree that I have a passion for, feel satisfied with and allows me to make an impact in my community.
