Personal Statement
I would be a great addition to a collegiate-level team because of my soccer strengths, mentality, and upbringing. First, some of my best soccer abilities are playing through balls, tackling, intercepting, shooting, and my understanding of the game. These attributes help me to be a versatile player who is consistent defensively and can change a game offensively. Second, I am competitive, coachable, and have grit. One of the biggest things to impact my game and mentality is moving up to a higher team a couple of years ago. This at first was hard since I was on a new team, but once I found my footing, I have grown immensely as a player not only with my soccer skills but also with my mentality, because I had to endure the most failure, leading to the most growth. This will help me make more jumps forward in my soccer career because I have gone through it in the past, I have learned from it and will be able to grow even more. Another factor in this growth is my coachability, I am able to learn quickly and respond well. My mentality is shown by my 3.95 GPA. At a rigorous school like The Oaks, it takes hard-working, perseverance, and teachability to excel. Finally, something that has helped both my soccer game and my mentality is my upbringing. I have loved soccer since I was very little, and my competitive, hard-working family taught me how to excel at life and grow my soccer skills. All these things make me a great addition to a collegiate-level team.
