Ethan Knight '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Ethan Knight, I am a student at Herbert Hoover High School. Soccer, academics, and my family are the 3 most important things in my life. I have played soccer for 7 seasons, being a goalkeeper for 6 of them. I was a starter for the Herbert Hoover Men's Varsity Soccer team my freshman and sophomore year.  My freshman year I ended the season with 11 shutouts; more than anyone else in the state. I was awarded Rookie of the Year for my play. I am very confident in my abilities and I believe I could compete with anyone for my spot. I plan on excelling greatly over these next couple of years. I have a great work ethic and attitude. I always bring positivity to any field I play on, or any team I play on. I can, and will, do anything to improve at my position.  

I also have played basketball and baseball for my entire life. My other sports have really helped me develop as a better goalkeeper. Baseball has made my hand/eye coordination much better. Basketball has helped me develop quicker and stronger feet and hands. With all of the sports I have played I have ran into many different situations. I have had to perform under pressure on many occasions. I try my hardest to always keep my team up in spirit. Team chemistry is one of the most important things to any team.  My leadership skills have been a huge part of my success in sports. I was made a captain my first year of playing organized soccer. That has stayed with me to this day. I strive to make me and my team better as a whole.

Academics have always came first, I have always been a Straight-A student. I focus very hard on my schoolwork and I make sure not to mess anything up. My mother has always said that academics could make me or break me. I plan on going to college to study criminal law. I have always been interested in working in the criminal law field. Going to college is going to open up a lot of opportunities for me. It would be a dream to continue to play the sport I love in college.
