When my high school team almost made regionals in 2018, it was a major wake up call to me. Especially when the tied game came down to a shoot out. It was heartbreaking to loose that game that way. That experience of watching our senior keeper (I was a freshman) really opened my eyes to what an asset the keeper is on the team and what kind of keeper I knew I could become if I continue to grow and mold myself into the best goal keeper I can be. My hobbies are what define me emotionally, and that is what drew me to soccer. The idea of a strong leader who can see and direct an entire half of a soccer field and can who can focus the other players for the best strategic outcomes are what really what made me want to be a goal keeper. My first year playing high school keeper, I earned rookie of the year, splitting half the time with the varsity goal keeper. Unfortunately my high school team has not had a winning record the last few seasons, with very young players and some teammates choosing other sports. However, I see each game as its own challenge in the net, to be better and to grow. Additionally, I've actively sought out additional playing experience and opportunities that have helped me grow a lot on a personal and athletic level. My spring club team is more competitive and I've enjoyed private coaching in Madison, along with attending keeper-specific camps in the summers. I am a focused and dedicated team member, a positive leader for my team and I bring a passion for the position and the game every time I'm on the field.
