Fernando Gamez '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches my name is Fernando Gamez. I am a Freshman at St. Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I have a 3.67 GPA and I am currently taking 2 honors courses (Biology and Geometry). My goal is to get into a top rated college and get a great education. I would love to continue to play soccer in college as I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. My dad taught me the game that I love and has been instrumental in not only supporting my passion but providing me with valuable knowledge along the way. I've grown a lot since I started playing for fun with my friends, joining local rec leagues and finally joining my local Club  Team- Red Star SC. It’s been a great journey for me as I have learned how to get in shape and with each passing level improve my skill set and my ability to compete with better players. It’s crazy how time flies because I'm now designing a profile for college coaches to look at. I can remember the long car rides I used to take with my parents for some of my games and it almost feels unreal right now.  

My primary position the last several years has been that of a Striker. I feel I have very good vision and I am a consummate team player constantly looking for the open man if my shot is not there. I can also play Right Wing, and CAM. Last couple of years ( including most of my freshman High School Soccer Season) have been cut short due to a couple of injuries I suffered on the pitch. I broke my toe during Club Soccer in 2022 and I fractured my Patella tendon during my high school soccer season in 2023 which limited me to only 2 games. I have been working hard every day to get in shape, gain strength and flexibility so I am ready to go come Spring and Summer Club Soccer Season.

I am a dedicated person who is committed to excelling in the classroom as well as on the soccer Field.
