My name is Harrison Griffith, a smart, hardworking center-defensive midfielder from La Crosse, WI. I attend Aquinas High School in La Crosse, WI, and have a 4.0 unweighted GPA while taking advanced science, math, and Spanish classes. I started on varsity both my freshman and sophomore years, scoring 13 goals and assisting 11. We went to the Wisconsin State Tournament my freshman year where we placed third.
I play club soccer for Rush Minnesota 07 Select in the USYS Midwest National League and US Club TCSL Super Leagues. We have gone to nationals the past two seasons, first in 2022 for the USYS Presidents Cup and then in 2023 for the US Club National Cup Finals.
I have also represented my state as a part of the Wisconsin 07 Boys ODP team. In 2023, we went 2-0-.5 and I had two assists in the 2.5 games--the third was canceled at minute 30 due to weather--and captained the squad. This was a good experience for me because it made me step into a leadership role quickly without knowing the team well.
I performed highly at the EXACT Sports Midwest Academic 50 ID Camp last summer ('23), being named team captain, team MVP, and part of the tournament showcase team.
Physical strength and technical precision are important parts of playing at the next level. I work on these two attributes on my own throughout the year trying to hone my craft. I lift with trainers 3-4 days a week and have speed training once a week. I train twice a week with my club team and 3-4 times a week either alone or with a few dedicated teammates. All of this helps me stay focused as well as improve my personal performance.
On the field, I am a hard-working playmaker and like to play a quick, possession-based game. My teams have found success through consistent movement, intelligent spacing, and controlling the tempo. Being tactically smart in many different formations and a vocal leader, transitioning to the strategies of the college game will be manageable.
I want to attend a university that will challenge me both academically and athletically where I can get the most out of the school. I hope to earn a degree in engineering or actuarial science and someday work as a civil engineer or actuary.
