Ethen Zastrow '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ethen Zastrow, I have played soccer my entire life. I take pride in the game and how I play. When I began Highschool I focused more on competitive leagues. I first began playing Flyaway tournaments my freshman year along with my school's Team, Mayville Soccer. This led me to join the club Hartford United during the summer, originally placed for U15 but I always strive to excel and was placed above in U16 when I was only 15. The summer of my Junior year I played U17 and I will play U19 in the summer of 2023, from this I can safely say I've always played above due to my determination and commitment to the game. As my fourth year playing for Mayville Soccer comes to an end, I have been awarded the First team all-conference now for two years in a row for forward position (Junior and Senior), as well as scoring multiple hat-tricks throughout my career including the game that won us Regionals against Madison Day Country my Junior year. As for many others the pandemic when it struck in 2020-2021 it brought online school which hindered my academic motivation and it showed in my grades for some years, although I recovered and restored my motivation as well as my grades on paper my Junior, and Senior years. Throughout college, I make it a requirement to myself to not let myself lose motivation in my education again. I take pride in the way I act on the field, I like to help my team excel by helping in whatever means necessary. I want my team to be their own leaders and be dependent on themselves by being confident individuals on the field. I look forward to communicating with Coaches in the near future about playing soccer at a college level while pursuing a Business degree.
