Take the ball and go score. That's how it started, and it may have worked when I was five, but I have learned over the years that there is so much more to the game of soccer. Once I began to excel at the overall game and began achieving success, I realized I loved the game. The strategy, the competition, the challenge that pushes me to be a better player each and every time I step onto the pitch - these are the reasons I'm driven to keep playing, and why I want to continue playing at the collegiate level. I am a contributor, no matter what position my coach needs me to fill, and the fact that I've played them all has helped me grow in the mental/tactical aspect of the game. Most recently as a center back, I have learned to step up as a leader for my teammates to help navigate and guide them through communication from my view of the field. I am also an encouraging and supportive teammate. I strive to keep spirits high on the field by picking up my teammates when they are down. I see soccer as something I will continue to play all of my life, so I would like to keep doing so while earning a degree in Mathematics or Computer Science.
