At a young age I began playing soccer through a recreation department program in Green River, Wyoming. I loved the sport and the communication, team work and friendships I made while playing. I was asked to join a club soccer program called the Green River Spurs shortly after. We traveled the entire state of Wyoming and even Idaho to compete. I began playing left defender because of my quick speed, knowledge and understanding of my role.
Although I did not start Varsity my Freshman year, I would usually be subbed in to mark their best forward. My Sophomore year in High School I started Varsity and I was able to play with my older brother. My brother played sweeper and I played left defender. I learned the importance of communication in the back field and the understanding one must have while controlling it.
I am faster than most defenders and have a better understanding of what to do on the field, this has allowed me to excel against my opponents. My coaches would tell you that I am hard-working, understanding, intelligent, dedicated and aware. These characteristics also can be used to describe me off of the soccer field as I have a high GPA and I play Varsity Basketball as a point-guard/shooting guard.
I want to play soccer at the college level because a team is my family away from home. I can't see myself not playing soccer once high school is finished. I have much that I can offer and I want to continue to improve as an individual and also contribute to a team that needs a player like myself.
Thank-you for taking the time to email me and look at my profile.
