Personal Statement

I would like to swim for a school that offers an undergraduate program in meteorology or atmospheric science, or at least prepares one for a masters program in the same.  I am hoping to find a D1 school with a meteorology major that fits, but am also considering smaller D2 and D3 liberal arts schools with strong programs in mathematics and physical sciences as well.  In pursuit of this goal I recently gave up a starting position on our varsity high school basketball team in order to completely focus on swimming and academics.  I have been dropping a lot of time since making this decision.  I am from a small town program that has never produced a college swimmer, and I want to be a role model for the swimmers coming up behind me and show them that this is possible.  I plan to take the ACT for the first time on April 12, 2014.

UPDATE:  I have committed to Ball State University.
