Personal Statement
For so long I've procrastinated uploading a personal statement because I've been trying to make it perfect and find the right words, but i don't think that's what coaches want. If it is then I'm not the swimmer they want because I am one to always try and keep things real and not sugarcoat anything. I started swimming when I was seven, it was right before my eighth birthday, and I have loved the sport ever since. My dream is to be an Olympic swimmer which is a very big one but I know that if I work hard for it I'll achieve the goal it just depends on how bad I want it. I also would like to become a Lawyer when i graduate with a minor in psychology. Something that would make me a good fit for teams is if there is someone faster then me, as there always will be, I train harder then ever before to get faster then them, I take my academics seriously and my team seriously. My coach always says the best ability is availability. I am constantly there for my teammates and helping them if they need it no matter what it is: homework, technique for swimming, or even something personal if they trust me with that kind of information. I have great leadership goals and have good communication skills. I look forward to talking to coaches and other swimmers helping them. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
