I have been a competitive swimmer since the age of five. The sport of swimming has provided the foundation for discipline, teamwork, grit, and the patience for delayed satisfaction. Over the years, I have increased my training which includes practicing in and out of the pool six days a week and up to twenty-one hours a week. I enjoy swimming distance freestyle because it gives me a thrill to chase down my competition and out-touch them during the last 25 yards of my race! Another favorite event is the 200 breaststroke, because I enjoy the feeling of pulling ahead of my opponents one stroke at a time. During my first year of high school, I was the only freshman who was selected for the men's varsity swim team. I also qualified for CIF in the 200 freestyle. In addition, I helped my high school men’s team win our sunset surf league for 2024. Recently, I have achieved winter sectionals times in my 200 freestyle and 200 breaststroke. Some activities I enjoy doing outside of the pool include surfing, driving, and listening to a variety of music. My goal is to swim at the collegiate level while pursuing my academic degrees. My work ethic and strong religious faith are the motivating factors that keep my swim and academic goals grounded.
