Personal Statement

 I am a Senior at Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, CA.  I have been on varsity swim since my Freshman year and I have been a club swimmer at the YMCA of Orange County for 7 years where they have taught me dedication, commitment, hard work, team work, social responsibility and excellent swimming skills.  

My current goals are to make another Junior National cut and in my senior year of High School, Break Aaron Piersol's school record in the 200 free of 1:35.87. I also want to make finals, and try to win an event at the 2015 YMCA National Short course Championships.

  After high school, I am 100% committed  to swim in college, and for a team that can best use my abilities in the 500, 200 and 100 free, 200 and 100 back, and 200 IM.  I believe I am a diverse swimmer, able to race all events where needed to benefit the team.  I am confident that my current training is ideal and leaves lots of room for huge gains(or drops in times) as I add more yardage in a college training setting. 

My overall aspiration is to be the second member of my family to compete for the USA at the Olympic Games.
