Jaime Del Toro '18 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming for 10 years competitively. I started to swim on a club team called Fremont Gatorsharks when I was 6 years old. I loved the feeling of being in the water racing ever since my first race in 2006. I love the sport very deeply and at the same time it keeps me physically fit.

Swimming is my world since day one. I am a very competitive swimmer when it comes to races. I always put in practice that is needed. I come to practice on time everyday. It is very rare that I ever miss just one day of practice. I always give it my best at my events especially when I'm trying to drop my time,which is all the time.

In the class I try my best to keep my grades up. If I start to fall behind I go talk to my teachers about the problem and see what i can do about it. I want to get my major in mathematics, I've always been so well in math because it's my favorite subject. I try to keep my GPA high so that I can be known as a scholar athlete.

Swimming in college will be the best experience for me if I'm ever going to be known for swimming in the world. I made a goal for myself in life at age 8. When I saw Michael Phelps in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics I was just so stunned by what a man can achieve in life. So ever since I saw him, I have been dedicated to swimming and going to the Olympics.
