"Progress, not Perfection" - Coach Jerry. This quote is what I use to drive myself to do better. Whenever I get into the pool to swim or play water polo, I always strive to do better. I go after little goals that are in reach; therefore, making me more motivated and willing to put in the work. I make sure to ask questions to my coaches as well as teammates on how I could do better. On my club swim team, I am known to bring a lot of fun and excitement to the practices, but when it's time to be serious, I can switch into a different personality and rise to the occasion. Although I don't see myself as being the most valuable in terms of speed, I instead see myself being valuable in terms of versatility. Having to juggle schoolwork and swim is always a challenge. During school, I find myself working on homework and other assignments in order to make sure I will be able to go to my practices, instead of working on homework that I could've done sooner. I am highly committed to my academics and athletics equally and hope to see the same lifestyle in college.
