Jake Healey '20 Recruiting Profile

From a very young age I spent countless hours and many years dedicated to playing soccer, however in High School, decided to join the swim team and water polo team.  Within my first two years, I went from not being able to dive properly into a swimming pool, to breaking school records with 200FR and 400FR relays and competing in Southern CA CIF Finals 2019 with my PR of 22.11 in 200FR Relay! I have received awards  for “Most Improved”. I look forward to my Senior year in High School and being a team leader and pushing myself to improving my PR and breaking individual school records.

I feel very lucky to have discovered my passion at such a young age. Swimming has taught me a lot about what it truly means to be determined, committed, focused, and unified. Considering the fact that I only began swimming competitively in high school, I view this chapter in my life as a great challenge. When looking at the substantial improvements I’ve made over the past couple years, I know I have what it takes to push myself closer and closer to new goals; no task is too daunting or unachievable. As I look into different programs, I hope to find one that challenges me athletically, encourages me academically, and values team cohesion. I know I have what it takes to push myself to new levels, and can’t wait to see where that takes me in college.
