Personal Statement
Since participating in the Engineering Academy at my high school, I have developed a growing interest in pursuing an Engineering degree in college. I enjoy problem solving, building things and hands on learning. After getting my Bachelor's degree, I plan to continue my education and get my Master's degree.
I began swimming in my 10th grade year and found that I had a love for the sport, especially sprinting events. Every year that I have competed, my times have gotten faster, and as a result, I qualified for the State Meet in my junior year. I have continued to train year round to get ready for my last high school swim season. My attributes include my physical strength, speed, athleticism, and diligence. My coaches have said that I am very coachable. I can listen to my coach and follow their instructions or advice and perform the very thing they suggest. I am also very team oriented and encourage my teammates to work to the best of their ability. Nothing is better than winning as a team.
As much as I am motivated to do well in swimming, my academics are most important. I know that doing well academically is the key to my future. I have worked hard to maintain a GPA of 4.0, balancing swimming, social, spiritual and academic life. I am a very hard worker and always do my best in anything I attempt.
