Matt Bonna '15 Recruiting Profile

It takes a special, dedicated person to get up at 4 A.M. to go to the pool to swim before school. I am that kind of swimmer. The reward for the hard work comes when I see my times drop and I know I can score points for our team at competitive meets.  I am a very spirited swimmer and, I am looking for a coach and a team that will capitalize on my strengths, help me improve on my weaknesses,  and take me to the next level as a swimmer. I am a great team player focused on becoming the best swimmer I can be. I have gained considerable experience at both high school and club meets, which has allowed me to really be able to understand and manage pressure well in these situations, especially at championship competitions. Outside the pool I am a fun and helpful teammate while in the pool I am hard-working and will push myself as well as others to achieve our maximum potential.

Ultimately my goal is to attend a school with a team that will raise my skills in the pool, and that will give me the best education I can get. As a student-athlete, I want to prove that I am not only a great example in the pool, but in the classroom as well.
