James Curtis '21 Recruiting Profile

    I have been swimming since I was 5 years old and competitively since I was 11 years old. I have always been passionate about my love for this sport. Since I was a little kid, I have dreamed about one day swimming in college. Every year, every meet, I continue to get better and continue to work hard to push myself to that goal. I am passionate, a hard worker, a team leader, a good teammate, and coachable. I never just think about myself and what I am doing, both at meets and at practices. I always encourage my teammates and help them out whenever they need the help. I will be willing to go wherever my skill level will take me. I would love to continue to pursue my athletic and academic career in college.

    In school, I maintain a very high GPA. I take multiple honors courses, will be taking AP courses, and I'm always on top of my school work. For this whole school year, I have had all A's and principal's honor roll. I was in the National Junior Honors Society program at my middle school and am planning on applying for the National Honors Society when I can. I have been told by my teachers that I always seem to take the initiative in the classroom and work hard everyday. I would love to continue this in school for the rest of high school and in college, as that is my goal for school.

    I also am well rounded outside of swimming and school. I have volunteered at my church, as well as other places. My main goal is that by the end of high school and college, I can make my family proud after all they have done for me growing up. When I go to college, I want to pursue my academics and athletics still and I am willing to go wherever I feel called to go to further my future.
