I started swimming in my freshman year and I knew I had a passion for swimming since I was younger but I never thought about joining a swim team until I got in high school. I realized how much I loved swimming and I couldn’t live without it. It’s something that really defines me.
Swimming is a part of me now, it’s the only time that I feel that I can disconnect from the world and from my anxieties.
After swimming the 200 IM and getting disqualified for the first time, made me so upset that I started to have thoughts that I wasn’t good enough. However I realized that from that small mistake I could improve and take a good lesson form it. There was a new me after that. I became more determined to succeed and reach my goals.
One of my dreams are to major in medicine and to commit to swim for college. I am a hardworking student-athlete, who gets up at 5:00 am for swim practice and always on time regarding work/homework. For that being said, I believe that I have what it takes to reach my long-term goals and succeed.
