As a club swimmer, I’ve faced lots of hardships, whether it be scarcely missing a qualifying time or falling ill just before a large meet. However, while these experiences are brutal at the time, I’ve learned much from them, and have always overcome them later with plenty of hard work and focus, coming back stronger and more prepared with every previous failure, with the help of my team and my refusal to give up.
This trait is one that I carry with me throughout all of life, especially in academics and athletics. As a collegiate swimmer, I’d like to continue to push my boundaries and support my team, as they do the same for me, so that I can continue the sport that I love while still maintaining the academic prowess that I have thus far maintained. My team and the people surrounding me are very important to me, and I push myself to support and encourage them at every opportunity I can.
