Griffin Lajoie TS...My name is Griffin Lajoie and I am an elite swimmer and exceptional student. I have trained hard and achieved incredible goals with my swim club. I owe my successes to my parents and my coaches who have taught me the value of hard work and being committed to my training.
At an early age, swimming has taught me to trust the process. My training schedule is time consuming and rigorous. I spend over 20 hours a week in the swimming pool and gym. However, my dedication and passion for swimming is something I cherish daily. I spend my time checking qualifying times, visualizing performing my best, and achieving the ultimate success.
Being a member of a team has taught me a lot. There are friends and coaches you can lean on for advice, encouragement, and celebrate success when you achieve your goals. I am grateful to my team and coaches for allowing me to experience the highs and lows of competition together. My coaches have provided me with an exceptional training program, achievable goals, and the desire to compete at the highest level. I would not be as successful or driven if it weren't for my coaches pushing me from the sidelines.
Besides being a student athlete, I love the outdoors and spent my summers at our family cottage. I love all that nature had to offer - swimming in the lake, fishing, boating and nightly fires. The time I spent at my family cottage has taught me how to use my imagination and ignited a love for the outdoors. When there is an opportunity to take some time away, the cottage is the perfect place I want to be.
As I move forward in my education journey, I want to find a school that will challenge me athletically and academically. I want to find a coach who will help me be successful in and out of the swimming pool. I want to be part of a team that will provide me with opportunities to learn, succeed, and create lifelong friendships.
Swimming has made me the person I am today and I look forward to growing as an athlete, student, and individual. I know I will find the right fit and ultimately work hard to achieve all of my goals.
