Personal Statement


After having picked up swimming at around the age of six or seven, I always felt the need to win and would get very upset when I didn't. Obviously now at seventeen this has changed, for the most part, and has lead me to devote a lot of hours in my week to what's honestly what I consider to be more of an art than it is a sport. Swimming has taught me to get creative with my goals, training ethic, team playing, and leadership when in the pool; while also continuing to be a better person out of the water. However, I've began to see that better person in the pool more than anywhere else and I wish for that person to continue to grow and get a bigger audience for his artworks.
