Alec Lebeda '19 Recruiting Profile

        I began swimming when I was five years old after my parents decided to enroll me in swim lessons when they became concerned about my fear of water.  One thing led to another, and soon I was on the swim team. I have grown a lot since then, and now swimming is one of my greatest passions in life. I love the sport of swimming because you get out of it what you put into it.  And, I love being able to work extremely hard and see the results of that hard work pay off in competition. Swimming has not only been an athletic output for me, it has also been a great place to make friends and create a second family. I hope to swim in college for some of the same reasons, as college would feel almost incomplete without the family and competitive drive swimming gives me. I hope to attend a medical school, as my desire is to go into neuroscience.   I'm proud to call myself a swimmer, and I would not be the person I am today without my coaches and friends.  Swimming has bettered me as a friend, a student, and an athlete.
