Personal Statement
I have been swimming since the age of three and spent every summer competing for a country club team. During my junior year of high school, I, with the help of my club coach, who is also now my high school coach, and my parents, were able to start a swim team for my school. Being the only swimmer for my team, I have to drive 120 miles to practice. Currently I spend 3 hours each day swimming, and am very dedicated to making improvements throughout the season. Much of 2018-19 school year was spent understanding the difference between club swimming and high school swimming. At the 2019 regional meet, I was able to place third and missed going to state by .05 seconds, after having the flu the week prior. This year my main focus is to improve my swimming times, my ACT scores and my grade point average, so that I can be faced with new opportunities that will help me become a better swimmer, student, and future employee.
