I have 4 goals going into college swimming. The first one is to be on the meet team. I want to go to a college where I have a chance to earn a spot in meets. My second goal is to make a conference championship. I am someone that always performs better at big championship meets and I want to be able to have that experience in college. My third goal is to be on the relay team. Ever since I was young, I have always loved the relay atmosphere and I would like to carry that love through college, as well. My last goal, and probably my most important goal, is to improve both myself and my teammates in the water. I believe that the fastest way to get better is by pushing with other people that hold similar goals, so this is vital to me.
I asked my prior teammates what they thought I brought to the team. They said that in hard times, I was someone that brought unity to the group. At practice and at meets, I would provide a sense of calm. They also believed that I was a leader even at times when I wasn't a team captain. When I am at practice, they feel a willingness to grow. And finally, they said that one of the biggest things I brought was a strong work ethic. I hope that I can have similar compliments paid to me by my college teammates, as well.
More recently, I have been voted and named team captain of both my high school swim team and my club team. I believe this shows a continued commitment to supporting my team and working hard together.
