Sports search for fear in order to dominate it, fatigue in order to triumph over it, difficulty in order to conquer it.
- De Coubertin
This quote resonates a lot to me: hard work and perseverance are key in the pool and at school, and we all experience fear, fatigue and difficulties while training, competing and working (even more during this challenging time).
I am passionate about swimming, and I would love to swim in college after I graduate from high school in 2022. I have been swimming for several years under the guidance of very experienced and exceptional coaches. Thanks to them, I am proud of my regular progress in competition, which allowed me to be a top ten swimmer in New England for several events each year. I am rather a well rounded swimmer, who excels in freestyle, butterfly and IM, and my favorite events are 200s and distance races.
I am also described as a caring and supportive teammate, and I need to say my team is very important to me: each year, one or two of my personal best are from relays. Swimming with and for my teammates makes me stronger, and I always thrive in relays.
Academically, I am a rigorous and creative student, who loves math and science but also interests in all other fields like history and languages. I intend to major in computer science in college.
