Personal Statement
My name is Clark Garner. I am a 6'1 swimmer who specializes in the 100 and 50 freestyle and will graduate in 2011. I placed first in my high school state meet this year and broke the state record. I have swam all four years varsity. My athletic goals for college are to work and train as hard as I can to get faster, be able to score points and lead my team to victories, and to qualify for the NCAA Championships. I have a 3.8 (high school) GPA and a 22 ACT score.
My interest is in a college with a good academic background. Ideally I would like to attend a DI or a DII school, but I would consider a DIII with good academics and a competitive swim program. I consider myself an extremely dedicated and hard worker in and out of the pool. School location and size aren't a big consideration of mine. Although, I am looking to pursue a career in the medical field or a computer programer and it is in my best interest that a college has both of these to offer.
