Hello, I am Michael Stein from Omaha Nebraska. I currently am a Junior at Elkhorn South High school. I swim for the Elkhorn South/Elkhorn High Schools combined swim team. I really enjoy the team and coaches. I also swim on a club team here in Omaha called G.O.A.L. (Greater Omaha Aquatics Leopard sharks). On my high school team, I swim varsity and have been a starter since my freshman year. I am training with the highest level group (Senior 1) on my club team and have been since the summer of my 8th-grade year. I am about 5'10", and I weigh about 170 pounds. Since my freshman year, I have competed at the state swim meet in both relays and individual events. Some things I feel I bring to a team are leadership and hard work. My team this year has elected me as their team leader and team Capitan. I try my best and set the best example I can for the team through my work ethic, dieting, sleep, and respect for the coaches along with decisions I make outside of the pool in my social life. I am very dedicated to my teams and I do my very best at being at every practice and being there on time. When I am swimming I work as hard as I can and often will ask my coaches what I can do to train harder than is expected. I am always the very last one out of the pool. I never skip out on sets and never give anything less than 100%. My goal and dream would be to swim in college and to one day swim in the Olympic trials. I had an accident this past summer which took me out of the water for a time. My coach got me back into the water as soon as possible to do as much as possible. I continued to work hard and was ready for competition in the fall again. I am a more reserved and quiet person and I come from a strong Christian perspective. The size of a school is not a major factor or concern in my search. I am looking for a school that can give me the best education and that will allow me to compete at the highest levels. I would like to go to school in the Midwestern region if possible so that I will be closer to home. I am, however, open to any and all schools of all sizes and divisions across the country. I will be more interested in schools with a good graphic arts program. I have to work hard for my grades and commit to my studies. I hope to have opportunities to talk with and meet coaches and visit colleges that would be a fit with my goals and interest for the future.
