Personal Statement
Although I only started swimming in my Sophomore year of high school, I have definitely come a long way in such a short time. My dedication earned me a varsity letter every year so far that I have swam, as well as a Cape Atlantic League All-Star award as a Junior. My coaches and my teammates have commented on my quick learning and how far I’ve come in such a short time. My learning ability and work ethic could deem a great addition to any sports team.
I want to reach my maximum potential by swimming in college, and I have the strongest desire to do so if I ever get the chance because of my passion for this sport. What makes me different from most other recruits is the short amount of time spent in the pool across my entire life, and how much I've grown in that period, but I still have more space to keep improving.
Aside from my passion for swimming, my time in school is much more significant, that’s why in my junior I enrolled myself in all honors classes but also 1 Dual Enrollment class—a class I chose to take and is two periods of classes instead of one, and the class is "Pre-engineering" —, and in my senior year I will be in 2 more AP classes to help expand my college options. I’m a member of the National Honors Society and I placed 3rd in a SkillsUSA competition representing my school. My love for STEM and school has inspired me to want to pursue Aerospace Engineering in college, and since I attend a vocational high school, I decided to go down the engineering career path early on so I have slightly more experience going into college.
