Personal Statement
Swimming has been a part of my life since I was six years old. Swimming at the college level has been a dream of mine for the past five years. In these past five years, 110% of my focus was to become stronger, faster and getting closer to the next cut for a meet. Being part of a swim team is the best thing in my life right now. My swim team is where I cheer, lead and hype up my teammates. Being the leader of my highschool team is amazing. I strive to become the leader on every team I am a part of because I love being the leader. I’m not afraid to step up, do what needs to be done and improve the team. I can’t wait to swim in college and continue to become faster.
In the classroom, I hit the books almost as hard as I hit the pool. I maintain a high GPA through academic success. I also volunteer at my old elementary school’s aftercare program on my free time. I help out watching and taking care of little kids.
I am very determined to improve myself as a swimmer, as a student and as a person. I don’t just help to improve myself but I help others improve too. Helping others succeed allows me to succeed as well.
