Personal Statement
My goal is to be a part of an NCAA Division I swim team at a great university where I can excel academically as well as athletically. I want to be around a great group of people who share the same goals and work ethic as I do and who help me better myself every day.
I finished my sophomore year as the Section Two Champion in the 100 fly and was a part of the 200 medley and 200 free relays that both won sectionals. I qualified in 5 events for the NYS championships and swam a lifetime best 100 fly at states to break the school record. All three of our relays which I was a part of broke school records. My goal this season as a team captain is to encourage others around me to give their best every day. I want to help lead our team to our first Section Two Championship in school history. Individually, by senior year I want to win states and break the state record of 47.76 in the 100 yard fly.
My school average is currently a 97 with Honors and Regents courses. I am also a Junior National Honor Society member. I am currently undecided on a major, but I am interested in business and computer science. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports with my friends, biking, camping, and reading. During the summer I coach swimming for Pinehaven Country Club which is where my swimming career got started. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the sport with younger swimmers.
