Kevin Claiborne, Jr '19 Recruiting Profile

I believe that high school athletes should be recruited based off their potential in the future.  There are many hidden gems waiting to be polished by the right system and I know that I will be a great addition to whichever program I’m fortunate enough to be picked up by.  I am steadily improving as time goes on and one day will be worthy of swimming against Division 1 talent.  For my sophomore year of high school my fastest time for my primary event 100 Butterfly was a 55, not fast enough to qualify for High School States which is a 54.  I came back the next year as a junior and qualified for States by swimming 100 fly again but going a 52; dropping 3 seconds in a year to swim against the fastest swimmers in the state of New York.  For my first time swimming at a big event like States,  I qualified for C finals and finished 30th out of 100 swimmers.  As I keep swimming and gain more experience, I believe that I can be a valuable swimmer to any program.
