Personal Statement
Growing up I gave several sports a try. However, swimming was the one that really stood out to me. What appealed to me in swimming was the direct impact you could have on your results. I quickly learned that if I focus and work hard then I will reap the benefits of it. I also enjoy the chance to move up throughout the different levels of swimming whether that's the different meets you can reach, or working towards higher training groups. The Idea of college swimming is something I have always found to be motivating, it is the culmination of academic and athletic work and accomplishments. It is a great opportunity to branch two things together, swimming is currently something that is somewhat of a job because of the time and effort that is necessary to put in. College will hopefully provide a gateway to my future career. That is what I think is so captivating about the opportunity to swim in college, it will branch my present life to my future life.
